By using the BEAM program, you accept our Terms and Conditions of use. If you do not accept the terms and conditions below, please do not use the training program.

  1. The information in the BEAM program is intended for educational use only. It is not intended to be a substitute for professional medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment. We strongly encourage you to seek help from a professional with any questions you have regarding your mental health or the mental health of students.
  2. The information in the BEAM program is not intended as a substitute for appropriate referral. If you are concerned about your wellbeing, we encourage you to seek help from professional services and other trusted sources. If you are concerned about a young person, you should encourage them to speak with their parents, the school counsellor, and other qualified professionals. BEAM is not intended to replace your usual duty of care procedures and protocols.
  3. Black Dog Institute does not guarantee the accuracy, quality, suitability or reliability of the results of the self-assessment tools or feedback provided in BEAM. Do not disregard professional medical advice or delay seeking treatment for yourself or a young person because of any result provided by the self-assessment tools, questionnaires, feedback or something else you have read in BEAM.
  4. It has not yet been established whether BEAM is effective at improving outcomes for Year Advisors or students, and as such, the Black Dog Institute makes no claims as to its effectiveness.
  5. You acknowledge that the Black Dog Institute owns the copyright of this program, including the design assets (such as graphics, format, images, logo) and information and materials contained within (unless otherwise stated). You may use the information and materials for your own use only. If you would like to reproduce, distribute, commercialise, or use for another purpose anything from BEAM, you must contact us for permission first.  
  6. Information about yourself, which you provide to us in the course of using BEAM is collected and used in line with the Black Dog Institute’s Privacy Policy and outlined below.
  7. Black Dog Institute may change any of the material contained in BEAM at any time without notice.
  8. The BEAM training program contains links to third party websites. Black Dog Institute is not responsible for the content or the privacy practices of third party websites. We regularly review our programs, but cannot always be sure that the information about other services is accurate and up to date. You acknowledge that you enter any third party websites at your own risk.
  9. We reserve the right to make changes to these Terms and Conditions at any time without notice to you, however we will post the updated version to the program site. You will be considered to have accepted any revised Terms and Conditions if you continue to use the training program after that point.
